The revised methodology for e-auction of DD Freedish slots has done wonders for Prasar Bharati as the pubcaster earned record revenue from the 67th e-auction that concluded on Monday.
While the fierce bidding for each slot spanning eight days made many broadcasters shell out more than double what they spent last year, the pubcaster’s total revenue jumped 66% to Rs 1,071 crore from selling 65 MPEG-2 slots.

Last year, Prasar Bharati earned Rs 645 crore from the allotment of 59 MPEG-2 slots which was 12% less than the previous year’s revenue of Rs 734 crore.
