On the eighth day of the e-auction of DD Freedish MPEG-2 slots, three more news channels – Good News Today, India TV and Bharat24 – picked a slot each.
All the channels participated in the auction under the third round for Bucket A with a reserve price of Rs 13 crore onwards.

While India TV bought the slot for Rs 18.65 crore, Good News Today spent Rs 17.9 crore on Monday.
Bharat24 spent Rs 17.15 crore.
With this, 12 national Hindi news channels have onboarded the Prasar Bharati-owned free-to-air platform.
From the existing news channels present on DD Freedish, News24 and India News did not get slots.

The pubcaster has earned Rs 199 crore from 12 news broadcasters for FY 23-24, up 87% from Rs 106.45 crore in the previous financial year.
