IPL 2023 to begin on March 31

Indian Premier League to be held from March 31 to May 28, 2023.

IPL will begin five days after the final of the inaugural Women's Premier League on March 26, 2023.

The first match will be played between Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi stadium.

A total of 70 matches, including 18 double headers, will be played in the 15th edition of IPL.

The last time that the league was played across all the traditional venues in India was in 2019.

In 2020, the league was delayed until September due to Covid-19. In 2021 too, IPL was played into two parts: the first half in March and the second half was resumed in the UAE in September.

In 2022, IPL was played in the March-May window in India. The entire league phase was played in Mumbai and Pune, and the playoffs and finals were in Kolkata and Ahmedabad.

Last year, debutant Gujarat Titans won the IPL.
