ALTBalaji to introduce metaverse game based on reality show 'Lock Upp: Badass Jail, Atyaachari Khel'

ALTBalaji in association with MX Player has announced the launch of a captive reality show, ‘Lock Upp: Badass Jail, Atyaachari Khel’, which will be hosted by actor Kangana Ranaut. Alongside the show, ALTBalaji also plans to launch a Metaverse game for the audience to have a lively experience and enjoy the show in a better manner. 

BestMediaInfo.com spoke to Zulfiqar Khan, Group COO -ALTBalaji, on the show, the game and what the platform is aiming to achieve through both. He said, “We wanted to break boundaries, this is the first show that is solely born in the digital era and does not follow any format of shows that were previously available. We thought about how can we engage the audience, the way technology is growing, content consumption and content experience will move beyond one screen.”

Speaking about the game, Khan said, “It blends itself beautifully with the format and the set-up of the show, we wanted the audience to have an experience to actually be on the show. Content is lean back and watch, Metaverse is lean in and play, giving them a sense of connectivity to the show.”

“This is an initial stage, we are still experimenting with the possibilities in the space. With the development of Web 3.0, I think there will be a lot more to see in the coming future,” he said about the future of the Metaverse and the possibilities it brings.

He also mentioned that in the coming days, the platform is also going to launch NFTs, he also stated that the game has a few elements of NFTs and Blockchain in it.

MX Player and ALTBalaji will live stream the show 24x7 on their respective platforms and will have the audiences interact directly with the contestants. The audiences will be empowered to punish or award their chosen contestants and even play ‘Khabri’ to some of them.
