GEC Watch: Star Plus returns to No. 1 position in urban markets

Dance Plus 3, the dance reality show on Star Plus, makes it to top-5 shows list in urban and combined markets. Zee Anmol retains leadership in rural and U+R markets

In Week 39 of 2017 (September 23-29), Star Plus reclaimed top position in the urban markets, while the rural and U+R markets had Zee Anmol as the leader. Sony Entertainment Television is going strong at No. 4 in the urban markets on the back of its reality show Kaun Banega Crorepati.

According to the latest data released by BARC India, Dance Plus 3 on Star Plus made it to top-5 shows chart in urban and U+R markets.

Top channels in U+R markets

As per select BARC India data for Week 39 (September 23-29) of 2017 for HSM (U+R): NCCS All: 2+ Individuals, Zee Anmol remained on the top position in the combined markets recording viewership of 661.111 million (last week 700.182 million) Impressions. Zee TV stayed at No. 2 position with 624.676 million (last week 671.377 million) Impressions. Star Plus climbed to No. 3 with 566.586 million (last week 551.710 million) Impressions. Star Bharat slipped to No. 4 spot with 561.015 million (last week 582.902 million) Impressions. Colors slipped to No. 5 with 552.131 million (last week 563.342 million) Impressions. Sony Pal was at No. 6 with 518.882 million (last week 524.409 million) Impressions. Sony Entertainment Television was at No. 7 with 489.266 million (last week 513.853 million) Impressions. Rishtey stayed at No. 8 this week with 426.475 million (last week 402.694 million) Impressions. Sony SAB continued to be at No. 9 with 367.321 million (last week 363.462 million) Impressions. DD National re-entered the list at 10 with 352.197 million (last week 310.627 million) Impressions.

As per select data {HSM (U+R): NCCS All: Prime Time (1800 - 2330 hours): 2+ Individuals}, Zee TV’s spin off fiction Kundali Bhagya topped the chart with 10.866 million (last week 12.647 million) Impressions. The channel’s original Kumkum Bhagya stayed put at No. 2 position with 10.371 million (last week 11.738 million). DD National’s third ODI between India and Australia bagged the third spot with 10.016 million Impressions. Kaun Banega Crorepati on Sony Entertainment Television slipped to No. 4 position with 8.736 million (last week 9.918 million) Impressions. Star Plus’ dance reality show Dance Plus 3 garnered 8.609 million Impressions.
