On Monday, social media platform X announced its plans to allow advertisers to showcase video ads alongside specific content creators.
X will soon allow advertisers to place ads next to a curated list of content creators with its new Creator Targeting feature. Now, advertisers have the option to select their ads to appear before videos from designated creators. These advertisements will be prominently displayed in users' home timelines and on the profiles of the creators.
In a recent blog post announcing the update, the company stated, "We are excited to introduce a new opportunity for advertisers to engage with their customers by collaborating with some of the world’s top content creators.
The social media company also stated that its upcoming feature to serve ads directly on individual creator profiles, mitigating the risk of ads appearing alongside controversial posts.
X's effort to address advertisers' concerns follows the departure of some from the platform in response to changes implemented by Musk regarding content moderation policies.
