Uniqlo is on the hunt for a creative agency in India

Japanese lifewear brand, Uniqlo, is scouting for a creative agency in India to shape its brand journey in the country.

The announcement of Uniqlo’s hunt for a creative agency in the country was made by Nidhi Rastogi, Marketing Director, Uniqlo India, on LinkedIn.

It’s unusual for brands of such big stature to announce pitches on social media and networking sites. A few years ago, when the NearBuy founder, Ankur Warikoo, called for a creative pitch for the company on Facebook, it created ripples across the advertising agencies world.

The brand entered the Indian market four years back and currently has over 10 stores in the country, seven of which are currently running in Delhi and one each in Lucknow and Chandigarh.

Recently, the brand also expanded into the western region of the country by setting up two of its retail stores in Bombay.

It was about a month back that the company’s CEO, Tomohiko Sei, expressed that he envisions Uniqlo becoming the No.1 brand in India.

The brand also roped in Katrina Kaif as its first-ever brand ambassador in India in late September, this year.
