With the Indian Premier League (IPL) round the corner, fantasy sports platform Dream11 has launched an advertisement featuring the famous trio from 3 Idiots - Aamir Khan, R Madhavan and Sharman Joshi, along with multiple Indian cricketers.
The ad '3 Idiots ka Press Conference...Cricket Pe?!?!' in association with Tilt Brand Solutions, shows the three actors dressed up as cricketers in a press conference set-up. In the ad, the actors mock the cricketers for their foray into the field of acting through multiple TV commercials and in turn, announced their plan to enter the cricket field.
On the other hand, the video ad also showed reactions from several cricketers who ridiculed the actors for their threats. Rohit Sharma, for instance, mocked Khan for thinking that his acting in the movie ‘Lagaan’ makes him a cricketer. Then Ravichandran Ashwin said how talking doesn't cost any money. All in all, the cricketers can be seen making fun of the trio's idea of playing cricket professionally.
Joshi cited Khan's 300 crore films and to this, Jasprit Bumrah questions whether he can ever face a 150 kph delivery on the pitch.
The ad says '#SabKhelenge', giving an invitation to everyone to play on the Dream11 app as IPL starts on March 31.
For several days, the supporting cast of the film had been preparing the fans for the brand's ad, leading to a speculation that a sequel of '3 Idiots' was in the works. To amplify the buzz, actors like Kareena Kapoor, Javed Jaaferi, Omi Vaidya, Boman Irani and Mona Singh also took to their social media handles asking the three actors if they are making a sequel for the popular movie without them.
