Centre removes NOCC charges for TV and Broadcasting operators

The department of telecommunications (DoT) has removed the network operation and control centre (NOCC) charges for all other service providers also including TV/Broadcasting operators (i.e. Hub/Teleport operators, DTH and HITS operators) with effect from October 1, 2022.

In its Wednesday order, DoT said that henceforth NOCC charges shall not be payable by any of the users of space segment.

The Network Operations Control Center was created under the DoT to control the transmissions from ground segment (satellite earth stations) along with the master control facility under Department of Space to manage the operation of satellites in orbit.

DoT removed NOCC charges for telecom service licensees using space segment earlier this year in May in order to enhance the ease of doing business.
