Forensic is a crime-thriller that is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat. It is about a serial killer who targets little children, and the suspense builds throughout the movie as you try to figure out who has done it. The movie has a scientific touch to it, and it is very interesting to see how the mind of a child serial murderer works. If you are looking for a suspenseful and gripping movie, this is the one for you.
The movie is set in the picturesque town of Mussoorie, Uttarakhand. However, the serenity of the town is shattered by the gruesome murders of girls.
The victims are all young girls, and the killer appears to be targeting them on their birthday. A cop is assigned to the case, and a forensic expert is brought in to assist with the investigation.
As the investigation proceeds, it becomes clear that the killer is very methodical and meticulous in his planning. The cop and the forensic expert work tirelessly to try to piece together the killer's MO and track him down.
The tension builds to a fever pitch as the killer's next victim's birthday approaches. Will they be able to catch him in time? Or will another innocent girl be added to his gruesome tally?
The movie is a gripping crime thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end.
As the movie starts there’s a plot where an eight-year-old boy with a violent father can be seen. This boy has a sister and his father always prefers his sister over him. Due to this unwanted and unloved feeling, the boy becomes vengeful and a dangerous person.
This movie depicts a child serial killer based on the case of Amarjeet Sada, whom people know as India’s youngest serial killer. With a scientific touch, this movie delves into the mind of a child serial murderer, showing the trauma and past complications that can lead to this type of behaviour.
In the film, Vikrant Massey can be seen playing the character named Johnny Khanna, a forensic expert, and Radhika Apte is playing Megha Sharma, the case officer. They both have a past together and some family history too.
Megha's sister was married to Johnny's brother. They had two children one of whom died a few years ago and then after some time Megha’s sister also died. Megha thinks that somehow Johnny is responsible for these deaths and that’s why she isn’t on talking terms with Johnny. They have a niece named Anya. But Megha doesn’t let Johnny meet her.
However, when Megha's niece is kidnapped, she has no choice but to turn to Johnny for help.
There is also another popular face in the movie i.e. of Prachi Desai. Prachi Desai plays a child psychologist who provides therapy to children with family tragedy history. Prachi is as good as ever.
The first half of the movie is quite a suspense builder and crisp in terms of storytelling as the movie shows three murders in just under ten minutes, however, these were years apart. The movie quickly established some plot twists and character development occurs at a fast pace. Also, the location of the hill town adds to the murder mystery.
In the second half of the movie, there are some bizarre plots and twists that kind of derail the movie off track. But we can say that Massey's charismatic personality and his character’s portrayal of a self-confident and jolly forensic expert and his pairing with Apte save the day.
There are some crime thriller movies where you can guess the killer from the beginning or at least after the first half of the movie, but Forensic is not that film. You think that you are guessing the ending right in the first half itself, but the end will surprise you.
Despite having some illogical subplots and not-so-strong background cover, Forensic is an attention-grabbing movie and worth the watch. You can also watch free movies on Zee5.
You should watch it once if you are a crime-thriller lover for the dose of suspense and to see Massey’s character interpretation of his novel.
