Vijay Subramaniam, Director and Head - Content, Amazon Prime Video India, has put in his papers. It was Subramaniam’s first assignment as Content Head where he spent more than four years with the leading OTT player.
Gaurav Gandhi, Video Director and Country Manager, Amazon Prime, will continue to lead the company across all teams.
Confirming the development in a press statement, the company said, “We can confirm the departure of Vijay Subramaniam, Director and Head, Content, Amazon Prime Video India. We are grateful to him for his valuable contributions over the last four years. Vijay has played a key role in Prime Video’s growth in India in this period. In his content leadership role, Vijay helped forge several key creator partnerships as well as laid great focus on expanding our content selection across languages. We wish Vijay the very best for his upcoming endeavors.”
Prior to joining Prime Video, Subramaniam spent more than 25 years in sales and revenue functions including a decade-long stint with Walt Disney as Executive Director - Media Networks. He has also worked with MTV Networks India, Star India and Radio Mirchi.
With close to three decades of experience in the media and entertainment domain, largely on the sales side, he started his career with Magna Publishing, where he worked for six years as Regional Manager.
