Following an in-depth analysis titled Sports or entertainment – what makes IPL more valuable by BestMediaInfo.com, wherein advertisers hinted that they come to advertise on the Indian Premier League (IPL) for its entertainment value, Star India Network has decided to increase the tournament’s entertainment quotient.
The IPL 2018 finale match will be telecast on Star Network’s Hindi GEC Star Plus and Hindi movie channel Star Gold apart from two more language feeds. Additionally, Star Plus will also telecast a two-hour prelude to drive more viewers to the finale.
The grand finale of IPL 11 will be played on Sunday, May 27, 7 pm onwards.
BestMediaInfo.com had last week reported that Star was contemplating the idea to telecast IPL finals on Hindi movie channel for better reach in Hindi-speaking markets (HSM). The pressure from advertisers for their return on investment has forced the network to go for the telecast of the final match on its Hindi GEC and movie channels.
Star Pravah will carry the Marathi language broadcast with Madhuri Dixit-Nene and Swwapnil Joshi while the Malayalam language feed will be broadcast on Asianet Movies.
The final showdown is slated to be India’s first ever mega-cast of this scale with 17 different feeds being aired across Star Sports' bouquet of channels – Star Sports bouquet (Star Sports 1 English, Star Sports 1 HD English, Star Sports 1 Hindi, Star Sports 1 HD Hindi, Star Sports 1 Tamil, Star Sports 1 Select SD English, Star Sports 1 Select HD English), Star Plus SD, Star Plus HD, Star Pravah SD, Star Pravah HD, Star Gold SD, Star Gold HD, Star Suvarna Plus, Star Maa Movies, Star Jalsha Movies, Asianet Movies.
