All Hindi general entertainment channels (GECs) have witnessed decline in viewership in Week 18 (April 29-May 5) BARC India data, primarily because of the analogue switch off in rural and smaller markets. While the viewership has increased marginally in the urban markets, the rural numbers have taken a hit.
Meanwhile, the rankings in all the three markets are the same - urban, rural and U+R. Indian Premier League might also have had impacted the viewership, but that is like a permanent impact for April and May.
