BARC India snubs NBA request; releases Republic TV's viewership data

BARC India has decided to release the first week’s viewership data for Republic TV, ignoring the News Broadcasters' Association’s request not to release figures for Arnab Goswami’s news channel.

The association had argued that if BARC releases the data, it will be “aiding and abetting” the malpractice of channels going for multiple feeds, which can have serious consequences on the news broadcasting industry in India.

Republic TV was launched on May 6. Its viewership data for the first week has been released today to the subscribers. The data will be available on BARC India’s website at 1 PM.
