New Delhi: The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCCMF) plans to expand its ‘organic’ product line by introducing Amul Sugar, Jaggery, and Tea within the next month. Currently, Amul offers 24 organic products, including wheat flour, rice, and pulses.
Entering the organic market in 2022 with Amul Organic Whole Wheat Atta, Amul aims to tap into India's $1.3 billion organic food sector, which is fragmented and features many smaller players. The market is projected to reach $4.6 billion by 2028.
GCMMF, under the Amul brand, already sells a variety of organic products, such as chana dal, masoor dal, toor dal, whole green moong, rajma, kabuli chana, whole urad, desi chana, whole wheat atta, besan, basmati rice, and sona masoori rice. Details on the procurement for the new products have not been disclosed.
