The e-auction for Bucket C started on Day-3 after 1 pm and ended at 3 pm with Zee News winning the bid for the first slot by paying 2.7X of the base price of Rs 7 crore.
When asked if this will become the benchmark for Bucket C, the other bidders told BestMediaInfo.com that except for those who have the highest dependency on free viewers will not get into such mindless bidding.
Earlier today, a senior executive at a leading news channel told BestMediainfo.com that the Hindi general entertainment channels and movie channels secured slots during the first two days of the e-auction by paying merely 35-40% more than the base price.
“If the news genre treats that as a benchmark, they will not go beyond Rs 10-11 crore,” the executive said.
