Making her Bollywood debut with ‘Om Shanti Om’ in 2007 alongside Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone has left an indelible mark as a prominent figure in the Indian film industry. So much so that she has not just become a go-to face for Indian brands but also the global luxury brands.
Ranking fifth in the list of top 25 celebrities with a brand valuation of USD 82.9 million in Kroll’s Celebrity Brand Valuation Report 2022, her personal brand has grown in leaps and bounds as an A-lister.
In fact, according to Forbes India’s Showstoppers List which is a six-cover special edition, Padukone was enlisted as one of India’s most powerful global fashion ambassadors.
Some of the various box office hits that the actress has given out in her more than one decade’s tryst with Indian Bollywood cinema include Om Shanti Om, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Bajirao Mastani, Chennai Express, Cocktail, Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ramleela, Chhapaak, Race 2 and Pathaan.

In the Indian advertising landscape, she has lent her face as the brand ambassador and endorser to several brands like Closeup, Asian Paints, Adidas, Levi’s, Spotify, Pepsi, Coca Cola Company, Jaquar Lighting, Nestle, L’Oreal Paris, Cred, Dabur Amla, BSNL and many more.
As per multiple reports, she charges somewhere between Rs 7-10 crores for endorsements.
That being said, Padukone has never shied away from lending a helping hand to start-ups by appearing in their ad campaigns to help them reach a wider set of audience and in some cases, even coming on board as an investor.
Some of the many start-ups that she has invested in the past include Epigamia, Purplle, Furlenco, BluSmart, FrontRow, Bellatrix Aerospace, Supertails, Nua Women, Oziva etc.
But apart from being an endorser, brand ambassador and investor in many brands, Padukone has also launched her own self-care brand ‘82°E’ in November 2022.
Pronounced as eighty-two east, the brand name originates from the standard longitudinal meridian that runs through India and establishes the nation’s relationship with the rest of the world.
Prior to this, Padukone had also launched ‘All About You’ in 2015, with Myntra as an equal partner. But later, the venture was fully acquired by the e-commerce platform.
Most recently, she was appointed the brand ambassador of packaged drinking water brand- Bisleri India. It was post this that the brand rolled out an ad campaign titled ‘Drink it Up’ wherein she was seen grooving to the music of iconic Bollywood number ‘Jhoom Jhoom Jhoom Baba’.

Automobile brand, Hyundai Motor India also roped in Padukone as their celebrity brand ambassador this year for her magnetic charm and illustrious career, which as per the brand, perfectly aligns with its young and dynamic nature.

Being the ambassador of Levi’s, she has also featured in a slew of brand films over the past couple of years and has also launched her own limited edition in collaboration with the brand. One of the recent campaigns that the brand had launched featuring the celebrity, titled- ‘For Now, For A Lifetime’ showcases her sneaking away from a set, hopping into an auto-rickshaw and disappearing into the night.

To commemorate the three years of Vistara, Mullen Lintas created an advertising campaign called "Flying - it just feels new again," starring her as the brand ambassador for the airline.
Travel aggregator Goibibo also named the Bollywood star as its first celebrity brand ambassador and launched an ad campaign featuring her as a cop in a television commercial titled- GoBefikar.
In August 2023, Dyson also roped her in as their new brand ambassador for hair care technologies with an aim to increase awareness around the importance of maintaining hair health.
Apart from the Indian brands, she was named the brand ambassador of luxury companies such as the iconic French jewellery brand Cartier and also collaborated with Chopard. Additionally, she also achieved the milestone of being the first Indian woman to represent the French luxury house of Louis Vuitton.
