Aaj Tak in Hindi and India Today TV in English, clinched the "Best Channel of the Year" titles.

The Indian Television Academy Awards held on December 10 in Mumbai also bestowed the “Naari Shakti Award” for exemplary leadership in media and entertainment to Kalli Purie, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the India Today Group.

Other noteworthy victories included the coveted title of Best Documentary OTT, showcasing the Group's commitment to impactful storytelling.

The accolade for Best Show in the Talk/Chat category to Rajdeep Sardesai and the Best Anchor in the News/Current Affairs segment to Rahul Kanwal highlighted the leadership of the network in all aspects.

The Union Minister for Women and Child Development, Smriti Irani, presented the most coveted awards at the ITA. She recognised the significant contributions made by leading women icons towards empowering women across societal strata in India.

Not just for delivering top-notch storytelling and journalistic integrity, the "Best Channel of the Years" and “Naari Shakti Award” together marked the distinguished feature of the India Today Group as a gender neutral and women-led organisation. It’s notable that the top leadership at the India Today Group includes women in top echelons breaking ceilings as lead anchors, head of HR, important COOs, head of social media and the Vice Chairperson herself.

Purie said, "As we receive the ITA Awards, I'm grateful for honouring Aaj Tak as Hindi Channel of the Year. This award signifies the trust of Bharat's viewers in the brand and that this continuous encouragement keeps Aaj Tak vigilant 24/7. Our commitment goes beyond reporting; we navigate the young India’s revolutionary rise. The accolades reaffirm Aaj Tak and India Today as beloved channels, affirming our integrity, quality, and innovation as chosen fixtures in everything we do.“

On “Naari Shakti”, Purie noted, “Gone are the days of attributing success to men; now, women collectively forge their paths. Self-reliant women are the foundation of self-reliant India. I embrace this responsibility with highest commitment”
