MIB approves Manoj Dobhal's appointment as Dish TV's CEO

Following the approval by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB), dated August 3, 2023, Dish TV India's Board of Directors has designated Manoj Dobhal as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company.

This appointment falls under the category of Key Managerial Personnel and will be effective from August 23, 2023, the company said in a statement on BSE.

In May 2023, the Board of Directors of Dish TV India proposed the appointment of Dobhal as the CEO-designate and further advised the management to seek prior approval, with regard to his appointment, from MIB in accordance with the uplinking guidelines.

The proposed succession was a result of Anil Dua’s submission to relieve him from his responsibilities as the CEO of the company, a position he held since May 2017.

Dobhal has more than 24 years of experience in setting the vision and strategy plan for developing business and amplifying business margin through long-term planning across business segments of FMCG, telecom, consumer durables, DTH, broadband and media distribution, the company said. 

Dobhal has a rich experience in the DTH Industry in India and overseas. He has managed various aspects of business across industries including sales and distribution, marketing, customer experience, field service and business process automation. He has held roles in diverse organizations such as Colgate Palmolive India, Vadilal Enterprises, Dabur India, Reliance Communication, and Tata Play Fiber, among others.

He joined the Company as Chief Operating Officer (COO) on October 11, 2022.
