News18 Bangla honours the educational institutes of West Bengal at 'Education Eminence 2023'

News18 Bangla partnered with Rotary Club of Calcutta Inner City to organise the Education Eminence 2023 on May 30 at Swabhumi (Raajkutir), Kolkata.

The complete coverage of the ceremony will be aired this Saturday and Sunday at 9.30 am and 3.30 pm on News18 Bangla.

The initiative aimed at recognising the contributions of educational institutions that have been supporting and empowering the future generations.

The event honoured 33 educational institutions for their dedication and commitment. Additionally, the outstanding students who overcame various challenges and adversities to excel in this year's board examinations were also felicitated.

The guests present for the event included Bratya Basu, Minister In Charge, Department of Higher Education and School Education, Government Of West Bengal; Rathin Ghosh, Minister In Charge, Department of Food and Supplies, Government of West Bengal. 

The other personalities who graced the event were Chiranjib Bhattacharya, President of the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education; Ramanuj Ganguly, President of West Bengal Board of secondary education; Arindam Sil, Film Director; Srijato Bandopadhyay, Poet; Abir Chatterjee, Actor; Isha Saha, Actor; Jawahar Sarkar, Member of The Rajya Sabha and retired IAS; Pradeep Gooptu, Retired Resident Editor of Business Standard; SV Raman, Program Director at Victoria Memorial Hall and Museum; Navarun Sen, President Rotary Club of Calcutta Inner city.

The event consisted of a series of panel discussions featuring individuals from the education sector, who ignited valuable conversations and fostered meaningful insights on the recent challenges and opportunities in education.

Here’s a list of the topics that were discussed –

●       How can online education be made easily accessible for the economically disadvantaged?

●       Is higher education beyond the reach of the general population?

●       Is it appropriate to design the curriculum solely based on market demand?

●       How can Bengal transform into an educational hub in India?
