Rajesh Mahapatra, Editor, Press Trust of India (PTI) has decided to move on from the organisation after working for almost a year.

According to the sources, he will be serving a three-month notice period at PTI and will then leave the organisation at the end of August.

Mahapatra is now looking for other opportunities, sources told BestMediaInfo.com.

In a career spanning over 28 years, Mahapatra has worked as a business journalist, public policy expert, political analyst, editor, newsroom leader, and in other roles.

In the past, he worked with Associated Press as Business Writer, South Asia, between 2001 and 2007.

Later, he had an almost 11-year-long stint at Hindustan Times, where he worked in various capacities. He was assigned as Chief of Bureau, Business at Hindustan Times in 2008. Later on, he was elevated to Editor, Research and then as Deputy Executive Editor. He was then promoted to the position of Chief Content Officer in 2016 and later he became Editor At Large, Hindustan Times in 2017.
