Star Sports transforms societies into mini stadiums under #MySocietyStadium initiative for IPL 2023

Star Sports, the official television broadcaster of the IPL 2023, has launched the #MySocietyStadium initiative to boost fan engagement.

As per Star Sports, the initiative has seen over 5,000 people come together in various cities to watch the screenings of the IPL 2023 matches of their favourite teams.

With the aim of providing fans with an immersive experience, Star Sports has turned societies into mini stadiums. Fans have been able to enjoy the matches on big screens with friends and family, creating a shared experience that celebrates the passion and excitement of IPL 2023.

The #MySocietyStadium initiative has led to match screenings taking place in cities such as Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, and Lucknow among others.

Under this, fans have been treated to the company of cricketers such as Yusuf Pathan, GK Anil, Mohammed Kaif, Yo Mahesh, Ashoke Dinda, Sandeep Patil and Aditya Tare, who have visited these screenings and interacted with fans, creating an electrifying atmosphere that has spurred them on to support their favourite teams.

Tare said, “It was an amazing experience watching the match with the fans in their societies, and it literally felt like I’m watching a live game in the stadium, because the energy, the vibe, was terrific, electrifying.”

He added “IPL is best watched together on big screens with friends and family, I think the Star Sports initiative of “Har Society Banega Stadium” is amazing, because you know, just to see all the kids, the adults and even the elderly people coming down, sitting together, watching the game, supporting Mumbai Indians, or their home teams, is just lovely to watch and be part of.”

Tare also stated, “It also brings a sense of inclusiveness, you know, everyone coming down, sitting together, watching the game, it just brought back my memories of childhood, because I grew up in a joint family, every time a cricket match was live on TV, everyone would come, sit together, watch the game and share their knowledge and expertise and you know, enjoy together and share the sorrow of losses. So, it’s just great to bring all those emotions back again.”
