Shemaroo Umang is all set to launch its latest prime-time original, "Shravani". The show's story revolves around the central character of Shravani, who embodies the virtues of love and devotion towards her parents.
Based in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, the show is scheduled to be on air every Monday to Saturday at 8:30 PM, starting from April 24, 2023.
"Shravani" is a drama that follows the story of an 8-year-old girl, Shravani, who dreams of becoming an eye specialist to cure people and help them. Despite being born to visually impaired parents who were shunned for their inter-caste marriage, Shravani never gives up on her dreams and relentlessly pursues them. Through its poignant narrative, the show promises to take the viewers on an emotional rollercoaster ride as they witness Shravani's journey toward fulfilling her aspirations.
One of the most interesting elements of the show is the character of Chandra, who serves as a foil to Shravani's positive outlook on life. Chandra, played by Arti Singh, is a cynical and bitter individual who resents the world and everyone in it. Chandra and Shravani have multiple face-offs, and these encounters set the tone for their relationship throughout the show.
Sandeep Gupta, COO - Broadcast Business, Shemaroo, said, "At Shemaroo Umang, we are always looking to offer our viewers diverse and engaging content. 'Shravani' is a beautiful story from the pious land of Gorakhpur which we are proud to present to our audience. We hope that through our storytelling and best-in-class content we continue to inspire and entertain viewers of all ages."
The show features Gaurika Sharma in the lead role, supported by Preetika Chauhan, Vicky Singh, Arti Singh, Manmohan Singh, and Shivani Chakravarty in pivotal roles.
Shemaroo Umang has partnered with the production company Do Dooni Chaar, to bring this drama to life on the small screen.
Launched in April 2022, Shemaroo Umang is the recent addition to Shemaroo's existing portfolio of FTA channels, Shemaroo TV and Shemaroo MarathiBana.
