The news broadcasters participated in the e-auction on Thursday despite boycott calls made by industry bodies NBDA led by ABP Network CEO Avinash Pandey and NBF led by Republic Media Network owner Arnab Goswami.

It is learnt from reliable sources that Goswami, who was one of the signatories of the joint letter sent to I&B minister Anurag Thakur stating news channels will not participate in the auction, broke ranks and started bidding along with a few other NBF members.
