The live and concurrent viewership of Union Budget 2023 brought a surprise as India Today TV emerged as the No. 1 player.
The channel recorded maximum concurrent users across Hindi, English and Business TV news channels on YouTube during the Budget hours (11 am - 12.30 pm), beating established business news channels and financial platforms.
With an average concurrent view of 1,43,000 live users and a peak concurrent of 1,82,000, India Today TV decimated even channels that were considered legacy powerhouses on Budget Day.
The channel said that the viewership reflects the power of the unrivalled muscle of the Budget Day team comprising Udayan Mukherjee, Rajdeep Sardesai and Rahul Kanwal boosted by blazing-fast budget intelligence graphics and tech.
“Such performance on this crucial day has also reflected a new India's preference for no-nonsense, incisive coverage of a day that involves and affects us all,” it added.
The second most average concurrent viewership was recorded by the Hindi business news channel Zee Business. It recorded 1,29,200 average concurrent viewers with a peak live viewership of 1,41,400.
