Popular television journalist Deepak Chaurasia has joined Zee News, reported NewsDrum.in.

Chaurasia is expected to fill the 9 pm slot vacated by Sudhir Chaudhary who moved to Aaj Tak last year.

Prior to joining Zee News, Chaurasia was the Consulting Editor of News Nation. He earlier worked with various media houses like Aaj Tak, DD News, Star News (now ABP news), and India News Group Channels.

An alumnus of Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) and prestigious Chevening scholar, Chaurasia started his career as a National Correspondent for Lok Swamy, an evening Hindi Daily of Indore. It was 1993 and after then, he is found where ever something big happens. He has covered all general elections since 1993.

He moved to electronic/TV media with Newstrack which started popular news bulletin ‘AajTak’ later to become a full-fledged 24 hour news channel ‘AajTak’ in 2001.

Chaurasia, a core member of the launching team, rose from a reporter to Political Editor at AajTak.
