Online marketplace ShopClues has announced the appointment of Anuraag Gambhir as its new Managing Director.
In his new role, Gambhir will be responsible for the overall running of the marketplace, expanding its cross-border trade with partner and non-partner countries/websites as well as bettering the efficiency of the platform by deploying a range of enterprise solutions.
Gambhir was previously the Senior Director at ShopClues from 2019 onwards.
“We see a great opportunity in cross border trade and want to focus on import and export through global partner websites that control more than $3.5 billion yearly of Gross Merchandise Value (GMV). Moreover, we are working as a close-service partner with the Indian government on projects like the Government e-Marketplace (GEM) for the past four years. My vision for ShopClues is to make it a self-sustaining organisation that is not dependent on constant funding,” Gambhir said.
Gambhir holds a degree in Business Administration from IMI, Delhi, and has formerly worked with companies like Accenture and Snapdeal. He had started his own digital marketing consultancy before joining Snapdeal.
