Colors Tamil to present two brand-new fiction shows 'Jamelaa' and 'Ullathai Allitha'

Celebrating the spirit of women empowerment, Colors Tamil is all set to enrich its content line-up with the launch of two brand-new fiction shows – Jamelaa and Ullathai Allitha.

Premiering October 10, ‘Jamelaa’, played by actor Tanvi Rao in the titular role and powered by- Shopeein.com and Special Partners Deepavali Na The Chennai Silks and Deepavalli Best to Best Collection Anantham Silks; will depict the odyssey of a young woman seeking to explore her potential and accomplish her ambitions, every Monday to Saturday at 7 pm.

Meanwhile, ‘Ullathai Allitha’, Powered by Prithvi Womens’ Innerwears, will chronicle the life of Tamizh (played by actor Vaishnavi), fondly known as Auto Rani, an auto driver who seeks to uplift her family, every Monday to Friday at 9 pm.

Rajaraman S, Business Head - Colors Tamil, said, “With the intent of offering unconventional and trailblazing plotlines that are inspired by real people and creating immense societal impact, we are happy to launch Jamelaa and Ullathai Allitha. The refreshing storylines seek to encourage women and favourably foster their sense of self-worth whilst highlighting their untoward nobility for their families. The brand-new fiction shows further attempts to disrupt the stereotype that men are solely responsible for their family’s financial stability and decision-making facet as well. We are certain that Jamelaa and Ullathai Allitha will bolster our prime time to a greater extent than before, besides enticing audiences, positively.”

Presenting a harmony of hopes and dreams, amidst familial tragedies, Jamelaa narrates the story of a young woman who sets out on a musical journey to become the nation's greatest singing sensation. Despite facing backlash from her family, she finds guidance and solace under AK (played by actor Ajay) who encourages her to chase her dreams and provides her with a ray of hope. Set to telecast at 7 pm, the fiction show also features actor Aishwarya Bhaskaran, actor Gowtham Sundarajan as the supporting cast.

On the other hand, drawing a thin boundary between greed, selflessness, and family values, Ullathai Allitha revolves around Tamizh aka Auto Rani, an auto driver whose philanthropic, street-smart nature touches the hearts of many but at the same time, she struggles to make ends meet for her family. She comes across a calculative business tycoon, Santhosh (played by actor Prithviraj), and then forms a strong karmic connection with him. What fate has in store for her would be worth watching at 9 pm.

Actor Tanvi Rao said, “In particular, when it comes to envisioning strong women characters in television, Colors Tamil has been transcending prejudices and generating innovative content, therefore I'm glad to be associated with them. It is indeed wonderful to play a distinct character with Jamelaa, which has never been attempted in the Tamil GEC space and I hope that the show will motivate women to chase their dreams, despite the obstacles placed infront of them.”

Adding to this, actor Vaishnavi commented, “ I take pride in my character as Auto Rani since I have already essayed the same role in Colors Kannada titled Mithuna Rashi. Having played the character for four years, playing Tamil aka Auto Rani was a moment of happiness. We have heard stories in newspapers where some people, despite their weak economic backgrounds are able to create wonders and bring a positive change to society. Auto Rani serves as a fragment of all those people who have selflessly served the community. It further aspires to shatter stereotypes that only men can earn for their families and take care of them. I am certain that Tamil’s endearing journey will hit the right chord and appeal to our audiences even further, in the coming days.”

With Jamelaa and Ullathai Allitha soon set to hit the screens, the channel has also come up with a unique outdoor 360 marketing campaign spread across Tamil Nādu.

The channel has tied up with 200+ theatre screens across TN towns to place ads during intervals especially with the recent blockbuster Ponniyin Selvan-I. Furthermore, building on the traction LED digital hoardings at railway stations, bus stand and Aauto activations have been undertaken by the channel to amplify the show a notch higher while encapsulating the themes of aspiration and drama.
