I&B Ministry asks cable operators to not to broadcast iPlus TV

I&B Ministry, in an order issued on Thursday, has directed all the MSOs/LCOs not to carry/downlink iPlus TV on their network as the channel has not been provided an uplinking or downlinking licence by the government.

On June 15, the ministry had prohibited I Plus TV Telemedia Pvt Ltd from the promotion of iPlus TV for the purpose of downlinking by any person including individuals or cable operators in this country.

“iPlus TV channel is not authorised to be downloaded by anyone in India,” the ministry added.

“No TV Channel can be uplinked or downlinked unless it is a bonafide permission holder from this Ministry under the extant guidelines. Horvever, no permission has been given to I Plus Telemedia Pvt. Ltd. to uplink/downlink iPlus TV by this Ministry. Accordingly, the TV channel is not authorised to be downlinked by anyone in lndia,” the ministry had said.

The ministry had directed iPlus to remove the channel immediately for the purpose of downlinking by any person including an individual or a cable operator in the country.
