Rajat Sharma is the most followed Indian journalist on Twitter: Muck Rack report

Rajat Sharma, the Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of India TV, is the most followed Indian journalist on Twitter, as per Muck Rack report.

The report titled, ‘The 2022 state of journalism on Twitter’, said that Sharma has 9,759,758 followers on the microblogging platform. Sharma ranks number three in the worldwide list of journalists after Rachel Maddow of MSNBC and Anderson Cooper of CNN. 

Rajdeep Sardesai of TV Today, with 9,108,518 followers, is at number five in the worldwide list. Apart from them, Barkha Dutt, Mojo story, with 7,234,821 followers and Sudhir Chaudhary, Editor-in-chief and CEO of Zee News, WION, Zee Business, Zee 24 Taas, with 7,095,165 followers are at numbers 9 and 10, respectively, on the worldwide rankings.

The report further talks about how journalists are using Twitter and said 77% of journalists value Twitter more than other social media platforms. 

The report further mentions the most followed personalities who created their accounts last year. Sadiya Parveen, a freelance journalist and social media activist based in India is at the first rank, followed by Abdul Kalam, another freelance journalist from India. 

As per the report, CNN is the most followed media outlet followed by ESPN and The New York Times.
