On the fourth day of the e-auctions for DD Freedish, the average bidding price has come down below Rs 8 crore in the second round of bidding which started Friday morning. The average price paid by news channels in the first round held on Wednesday was 9.95 crore.

Last year, the News genre’s average bid price was Rs 17.3 crore against a reserve price of Rs 7 crore.
Hindi news channel Aaj Tak picked up a slot at Rs 7.60 crore compared with Rs 15.35 crore paid last year.

India TV’s bidding price was Rs 7.85 crore. Last year, the channel was the lowest bidder at Rs 12.2 crore.
News24, which did not pick the slot on DD Freedish last year due to high benchmarking, secured a slot for Rs 7.7 crore.
TV9 Bharatvarsh bagged a slot at Rs 8.05 crore. The channel had paid Rs 18.15 crore last year.
The fifth channel to bag a slot is Zee Hindustan which paid Rs 7.75 crore. Last year, the channel had paid Rs 20 crore.
iTV Network's India News bagged the slot for Rs 7.8 crore. The channel did not pick slot last year.
NDTV India picked up the slot at Rs 7.75 crore. The channel had spent Rs 12.85 crore last year.
Good News Today bagged the slot for Rs 7.65 crores.
News18 India, which spent maximum last year (Rs 22.05 crore), bagged the slot for 7.7 crore this year.
