Leading Hindi news channel Aaj Tak has got yet another feather added to its cap. The channel has crossed 50 million subscribers mark on YouTube and become the world’s first news channel entitled to get a Ruby Play button.
The Custom Play Button or Ruby Play Button is the second highest creator award given to YouTubers for reaching 50 million subscribers. It has no definite shape or color and as the name suggests is custom made with the channel's logo and other features put on it.
The highest creator award is called Red Diamond play button which is awarded to channels that reach or surpass 100 million subscribers.
Aaj Tak recently made headlines when its tune went viral on Instagram with several famous content creators posting Reels dancing to the tune, with the hashtag #AajTakTune.
The fad started with a video posted by a famous meme page, ‘Ghantaa’, and was later joined by famous celebrities such as Instagrammer from Tanzania, Kili Paul, and Comedian Bharati Singh. The #aajtaktune hastag soon converted in user-generated content with thousands of netizens dancing on the Aaj Tak Tune.
