The Walt Disney Company (TWDC) has appointed Mani Rangarajan as Head - Finance and Strategy in India. He will replace India Finance and Business Operations Head Sanjay Jain who is moving on from the company after 16 years.
K Madhavan, President, TWDC India, announced the appointment of Rangarajan in internal communication to his staff.
Having over 25 years of experience, Rangarajan joins TWDC India from Elara Technologies where he was CEO and Strategy Head. He started his career with Citibank and went on to work with Yahoo, MJ Consultants, Mediaboost Ltd and Evergent Technologies. At Elara Technologies, Rangarajan was instrumental in the acquisition of Makaan and Prop Tiger.
He also played a key role at Yahoo and was part of the team which crafted the Alibaba deal in Yahoo.
Rangarajan is an alumnus of IIM Calcutta and holds a Master’s in Business Administration from Stanford University. He is also a certified Cost & Management Accountant.
Additionally, TWDC India has announced the realignment of some of its central functions.
Sandeep Jain, Head- Commercial, who had a dual reporting to Sanjay Jain and Madhavan, will now report to Madhavan.
Amit Saincher, Head - Facilities, Brand Experience and Events along with Arpita Menon, Head Partnership & Innovation will also report to Madhavan.
Gajendra Tijare, Head- BTO and Vivek Dhaimade, Head Traffic & Presentation, will be reporting to Kevin Vaz, President & Head of Network Entertainment channels.
