Goldmines Telefilms, which runs movie channels Dhinchaak and Dhinchaak 2, has appointed Joy Chakraborthy as CEO – Broadcasting. 

With 27 years in the media industry, Chakraborthy is one of the industry leaders who has been active in initiating and leading change throughout his career. His experience traverses print, television, radio and digital businesses in the Indian media industry.

Ad sales and revenue generation being core to his career, Chakraborthy has leveraged his strength to turn around revenues for media businesses he has been associated with.

In top leadership roles including CEO, Chakraborthy has successfully delivered on tall business asks in all his assignments. Chakraborthy's past associations as CEO has been with Enter10 Media, TV Today Network (Aajtak / India Today/ Tej/ FM Oye104.8) and Forbes India.

He was Executive director at Zee group, Director at Times of India group, President at TV18 News Network and Executive Vice President at Star TV.

Manish’s vision and genre understanding as a promoter is a vital add-on. Presently Goldmines has strong positions in the HSM geographies with Dhinchaak. More recently Dhinchaak 2, a channel showcasing superhits of Bollywood was also launched in 2021. Both channels have become leaders across markets in their respective genres in a very short span of time. Goldmines plans to introduce more channels and we will be talking about them as plans rollout. As I like to work on business challenges, I see my role at Goldmines as one such exciting challenge to take on.”

Chakraborthy is an alumnus of the Harvard Business School and has graduated from National Defence Academy.
