Kapil Sharma elevated as GM, Consumer Marketing, at Ford India

The new role is in addition to his present responsibility as Director of Communications. Sharma had joined Ford India in 2013 and takes over his new role from next month

Kapil Sharma, Director of Communications at Ford India, has been elevated as General Manager, Consumer Marketing, in addition to his current role.

Sharma, who confirmed the news to, will be responsible for steering the Ford brand and business forward with integrated marketing and communications efforts. He takes over his new role from June 1. 

He had joined Ford India in September 2013 as Manager, Corporate Communications, wherein he was in charge of corporate storytelling around manufacturing, service, sales channel development, along with employee and crisis communication. Prior to this, he was with BMW India as Manager, Press and Corporate Affairs.

Sharma started his career as a Marketing Communications and Public Relations Executive with Mileage Communications and then moved to WPP as Team Lead/Director. He then worked with Genesis Burson Marsteller for more than seven years.

He did his Bachelor in Advanced Study in Software Technology and System Management from the National Institute of Information Technology (NIIT) and MA in English Literature from Government Post Graduate College (M.D.University) Gurgaon.

Sharma also has a Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing Communication Management, Integrated Marketing Communications from National Institute of Advertising (NiA).
