Henkel has appointed Sunil Kumar as the Country President of its India businesses. He will be responsible for guiding Henkel’s adhesive and beauty care businesses in India and the two legal entities of the company in the country, Henkel Adhesives Technologies India Private Limited and Henkel Anand India Private Limited.

Besides this assignment, Kumar will continue in his existing role of Regional Business Director, Packaging SBU for India, Middle East and Africa (IMEA), Henkel Adhesive Technologies.

Kumar succeeds Shilip, who led the India business for over four years, and will now move to Shanghai as Vice-President, Metals for IMEA & APAC (Asia Pacific). Kumar joined Henkel in January 2015 as Business Director, Packaging and Consumer Goods, South Asia.

In this role, he was responsible for flexible packaging, packaging and labelling, paper, tapes, labels, personal hygiene, building, construction and sports and fashion businesses in the country.

Kumar started his career in 1990 with the Carborundum Universal Ltd., a division of the Murugappa Group. He has also worked with Castrol from 1992 in various sales and marketing positions across industrial segments of automotive, metals among others.

Kumar holds a Bachelor’s in Technology degree (B.Tech) in Chemical Engineering from Coimbatore Institute of Technology (CIT), Coimbatore. He has also completed an Executive Certificate Program in Business Management from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Kolkata.

Henkel operates globally with a well-balanced and diversified portfolio. The company has three business units in both industrial and consumer businesses. Henkel Adhesive Technologies deals in the adhesives market across all industry segments worldwide. In its laundry and home care and beauty care businesses, Henkel holds leading positions in many markets and categories around the world.

Henkel in India has two legal entities Henkel Adhesives Technologies India Private Limited (wholly owned subsidiary of Henkel, Germany) and Henkel Anand India Private Limited (joint venture). The company is present in two business — Adhesive Technologies and Beauty Care, both in the business to business realm.
