Bombay HC to pronounce final order on August 24 in TRAI vs broadcasters' case on NTO 2.0

The division bench of Justice AA Sayed and Justice Anuja Prabhudessai of Bombay High Court, which reserved the order in TRAI vs broadcasters case on March 4 over NTO 2.0, said the final order will be pronounced on August 24. The bench heard the matter today.

The bench also said that TRAI cannot take any coercive action until the final judgment is pronounced.

The Indian Broadcasting Foundation (IBF) and other broadcasters had approached the Bombay High Court over the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India’s (TRAI) July 24 directive, asking all broadcasters to comply with NTO 2.0 by August 10, despite the fact that the matter is sub judice and the final judgment has been reserved by the court.
