TikTok not going to legally challenge the ban order

Contrary to the reports that TikTok was planning to go to Supreme Court against the ban order by the Government of India, TikTok will not legally challenge the ban order.

“There have been statements in the press concerning the possibility that TikTok might pursue legal action regarding the directive by the Government of India. We have no plans to pursue such action,” pleople in the know told BestMediaInfo.com.

The Government of India, on June 29, announced a ban on 59 Chinese applications, including TikTok, both on mobile and non-mobile internet-enabled devices last evening. The government said these apps are prejudicial to the sovereignty, integrity and defence of India, the security of the state and public order.

Following the government’s order, Google Play and Apple Store removed the banned apps on June 30.
