Gaining readership quarter on quarter, Dainik Bhaskar has displaced Prabhat Khabar from the No. 3 position in terms of average issue readership (AIR). The daily grew by 22% in two quarters and recorded an AIR of 18,30,000 in Q3 as compared to 15,04,000 in Q1. It had 16,48,000 readers in Q2.
Hindi daily Hindustan continued to rule the state despite a drop of 16.5% in its AIR over the last two quarters. Hindustan has 43,31,000 readers in Q3, down 9.4% from 47,80,000 from the previous quarter, and down 16.5% from 51,85,000 readers in Q1.
Dainik Jagran retained the No. 2 position with an AIR of 32,18,000 in Q3, down 5.6% from 34,10,000 in Q1. The daily had registered growth in the previous quarter and recorded an AIR of 34,48,000 readers.
Now at No. 4, Prabhat Khabar had an AIR of 17,98,000 in Q3, down 10% from 20,01,000 in the first quarter, and down 2% from 18,41,000 in the previous quarter (Q2).
