Xiaomi India's Karan Shroff joins Unacademy as VP Marketing

Online education platform Unacademy has appointed Karan Shroff as VP, Marketing. Shroff joins from Xiaomi India where he was the Head of Brand Marketing.

With Shroff helming the marketing team, Unacademy is going to release its first ATL brand campaign soon, and the coming months will see a lot of innovative marketing campaigns.

Founded by Gaurav Munjal, Roman Saini and Hemesh Singh in 2015, the platform currently has more than 10,000 registered educators and 13M learners.

After raising its Series D round of $50 million from Steadview Capital, Sequoia India, Nexus Venture Partners and Blume Ventures, and others, Unacademy’s valuation has crossed $200 million and is on the road to attain the Unicorn status in the coming year. The company has raised a total of $88.6 million.

"The company has been growing exponentially over the last year and we are happy about Karan joining Unacademy and further strengthening the organisation. We are working towards adding newer categories and growing the existing ones. We have just begun and the road ahead is extremely exciting. Moving ahead, Karan would be instrumental in giving our brand a voice and showcasing the true strength of the Unacademy platform", co-founder and CEO Unacademy, Gaurav Munjal said.
