Former Viacom18 Group CEO and broadcast industry veteran Raj Nayak has announced his entrepreneurial venture ‘House of Cheer’. Nayak took to Twitter to reveal the name and tagline of his company.

According to sources aware of the development, House of Cheer will be the country’s first full-service media, entertainment and technology hub specialising in Creation, Curation and Consultancy. Under the umbrella of Cheer, there will be various business extensions in the space of happiness and well-being products/services.
House of Cheer Networks is a private incorporated on May 24, 2019. Along with Nayak, the second director in the company is Radhika Ajay Palkar.
Nayak quit Viacom18 as Chief Operating Officer (COO) in November last year, after being associated with the media conglomerate for seven-and-a-half years. He had joined Viacom18’s flagship Hindi general entertainment channel (GEC) Colors as CEO in April 2011 and was elevated to the COO’s role in May 2017. Viacom18 had unified all revenue across the network under the leadership of Nayak.
Nayak started his television career with Star India in 1993 and rose to the role of Executive Vice-President, Sales and Marketing. He was responsible for strategy, packaging and marketing for all Star channels and the revenue for the group.
Prior to joining Colors, Nayak had founded media sales and marketing company Aidem after parting ways with NDTV Media as CEO. Nayak headed NDTV Media for over a period of seven years.
