TV9 CEO Ravi Prakash has been removed from his role by the channel’s new management, media reports said.
Alanda Media Entertainment, a joint venture of My Home Group headed by Jupalli Rameshwar Rao and Megha Engineering and Infrastructure’s Krishna Reddy, bought over majority of the stakes in the Associated Broadcasting Company Limited that owned TV9.
Prakash founded ABCL in 2004 that runs Jai Telangana TV, TV9 Kannada, TV9 Gujarati, TV9 Marathi and TV9 Bharatvarsh.
In his place, Singa Rao, presently CEO of 10TV, also promoted by My Home Group, has been appointed as the new CEO of TV9.
Additionally, in connection with an alleged forgery case, the police in Telangana have reportedly booked Prakash.
Based on a complaint lodged by Alanda Media Entertainments secretary Kaushik Rao, the Cyberabad police have begun efforts to nab Prakash.
As per reports, the issue is in connection with alleged take-over of Alanda Media by TV9. The complaint said that the signature of Rao was reportedly forged on a letter which opposed the appointment of three new directors.
The police are conducting searches at the TV9 office in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad.
