The NDTV Group and NDTV Limited (its Broadcast Operations) have turned profitable in the second quarter of FY19. The strong operational profits or EBITDA in both the companies made this the best Q2 for them in 14 years.
NDTV's broadcast operations have declared a profit of Rs 19 lakh in the quarter ending September 30. The EBITDA or operating profit is Rs 6.32 crore as compared to a loss of Rs 9.12 crore for the same time last year.
NDTV Limited reported a revenue of Rs 62.74 crore in Q2 FY19, down 14.7% from Rs 73.57 crore in the corresponding quarter of previous year.
The operating costs for the broadcast operations have reduced by Rs 26.27 crore YoY (year-on-year) and by nearly Rs 7.4 crore since the first quarter of this year.
The profit at the group level was Rs 59 lakh. The NDTV Group EBITDA was Rs 11.70 crore, a turnaround of Rs 21.49 crore YoY. EBITDA losses for the same quarter last year were Rs 9.79 crore.
The consolidated revenue of the group for Q2FY19 stood at Rs 100.83 crore, down 3% from Rs 103.97 crore in the same quarter during the previous year.
NDTV Convergence, the company's digital arm, recorded its best-ever Q2 with the highest revenue for this period.
