Star Plus ranks second in the urban markets on the back of IPL 2018 finale while it stayed at No. 7 in U+R and No. 9 in rural markets

GEC Watch: Zee Anmol continues to lead U+R, rural; Zee TV tops urban

Zee Anmol lead the U+R and rural markets in the Week 22 of 2018 (May 26-June 1), while Zee TV grabbed the top spot in the urban markets.

The final matches of IPL 2018 were telecast on Star Plus that ranked second in the urban markets, seventh in U+R and ninth in rural markets.

Amongst the TV shows, Zee Anmol’s Kundali Bhagya exited from the U+R and rural markets’ top shows list. Most other rankings in the shows’ lists are also the same.

Top channels in U+R markets

As per select BARC India data for Week 22 of 2018 (May 26-June 1) for HSM (U+R): NCCS All: 2+ Individuals, Zee Anmol stayed at the top spot in the U+R markets, despite loss in numbers, with 821.672 million (last week 890.491 million) Impressions. Rishtey too lost viewership but maintained its No. 2 position, with a viewership of 665.332 million (last week 686.253 million) Impressions. Zee TV, climbed to No. 3, gaining extra viewership standing with 592.858 million (last week 581.815 million) Impressions. Sony Pal slipped to No. 4, clocking 577.214 million (last week 600.487 million) Impressions. Star Bharat, meanwhile, stayed at No. 5 despite loss in viewership, garnering 536.573 million (last week 563.733 million) Impressions. Star Utsav held to its sixth spot garnering 490.206 million (last week 479.587 million) Impressions, followed by Star Plus at No. 7 with 447.354 million (last week 439.453 million) Impressions. Colors with 391.757 million (last week 394.807 million) Impressions, maintained its position at No. 8. Sony SAB continued at No. 9 with 387.189 million (last week 360.612 million) Impressions. Sony Entertainment Television stayed at No. 10 by clocking 340.834 million (last week 340.661 million) Impressions.

Top shows in U+R markets 

As per select data {HSM (U+R): NCCS All: Prime Time (1800 - 2330 hours): 2+ Individuals}, Zee TV’s Kumkum Bhagya became the most watched show by clocking 12.129 million (last week 12.916 million) Impressions, followed by Zee Anmol’s Kumkum Bhagya that clocked 11.718 million (last week 10.387 million) Impressions. Zee TV’s Kundali Bhagya came in next with 10.985 million (last week 10.642 million) Impressions. At No. 4 Star Plus’ Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai garnered 7.646 million Impressions, followed by Zee Anmol’s Mahek that scored 7.219 million (last week 8.090 million) Impressions. .

Top channels in urban markets

Zee TV stayed on the top spot in the urban markets, in the Hindi general entertainment channels (GECs) ranking in the urban markets. The channel garnered 358.650 million (last week 350.371 million) Impressions. Star Plus maintained its position at the second spot in the urban markets with 311.527 million (last week 304.837 million) Impressions. Sony SAB climbed to No. 3 by garnering 287.594 million (last week 267.954 million) Impressions. Slipping to No. 4, Colors garnered 281.435 million (last week 280.387 million) Impressions, followed by Star Bharat that garnered 260.743 million (last week 262.389 million) Impressions, at No. 5. Sony Entertainment Television, stayed at No. 6 spot with 258.833 million (last week 253.396 million) Impressions. Rishtey gained viewership to stick to climb to No. 7 by clocking 197.019 million (last week 192.102 million) Impressions. Sony Pal was at No. 8 with 193.766 million (last week 191.887 million) Impressions. Zee Anmol slipped to No. 9 with 187.629 million (last week 197.234 million) Impressions. Zee TV’s Kundali Bhagya has grabbed the second spot in the most watched shows list, by clocking 6.664 million (last week 6.429 million) Impressions in the urban market. Star Plus’ Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai grabbed the No. 3 spot with 5.572 million (last week 5.355 million) Impressions. Next on the list is Star Plus’s Kulfi Kumar Bajewala that clocked 4.862 million (last week 5.331 million) Impressions. Sony Sab’s Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah was at No. 5 with 4.695 million (last week 4.439 million) Impressions.

Zee Anmol held on to the top spot with 634.042 million (last week 693.256 million) Impressions. Rishtey stayed at No. 2 position with 468.313 million (last week 494.151 million) Impressions. Zee Anmol’s Kumkum Bhagya was the most watched show in the rural market grabbing 9.320 million (last week 10.357 million). Zee Anmol’s Mehak stood next with 5.693 million (last week 6.517  million) Impressions, Zee TV’s Kumkum Bhagya lists third with 4.765 million Impressions, followed by Sony Pal’s Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah that clocked 4.492 million (last week 4.913 million) Impressions. Zee TV’s Kundali Bhagya lists fifth with 4.322 million (last week 4.213 million) Impressions.
