Colors and Zee Anmol continue to top the urban and rural, respective markets. The second season of Colors' live singing reality show Rising Star has entered in the top five shows' list in the urban markets at No. 5

GEC Watch: Star Bharat leads U+R markets

In the Week 7 of 2018 (February 10-16), Star Bharat has climbed to the top spot in the combined U+R markets, on the back of its gain in the urban markets. However, Colors and Zee Anmol remain the leaders in the urban and rural markets, respectively. Star Plus too has gained significantly in both urban and rural markets.

The second season of Colors’ live singing reality show Rising Star debuted on January 20. Though it is this week that the show has entered in the top five shows’ list in the urban markets at No. 5. Rankings in the other shows almost remain the same.

Top channels in U+R markets

As per select BARC India data for Week 7 of 2018 (February 10-16) for HSM (U+R): NCCS All: 2+ Individuals, Star Bharatclimbed to the top spot in the combined U+R markets with 748.539million (last week 729.536 million) Impressions. Zee Anmol slipped to No. 2 with 715.014 million (last week 767.706 million) Impressions. Sony Pal remained at the third spot with680.587 million (last week 639.246 million) Impressions. Colors stayed put at No. 4 position with 566.399 million (last week 584.651 million) Impressions. Zee TV, stayed at No. 5 by clocking 548.284 million (last week 571.228 million) Impressions. Star Utsav too stuck to its No. 6 position garnering 545.554 million (last week 558.245 million) Impressions. Star Plus climbed to No. 7 with 476.819 million (last week 449.901 million) Impressions. Sony Entertainment Television climbed to the eighth spot by clocking 441.687 million (last week 435.196 million) Impressions. Rishteyslipped to No. 9 with a gross viewership of 429.550 million (last week 448.678 million) Impressions. As per select data {HSM (U+R): NCCS All: Prime Time (1800 - 2330 hours): 2+ Individuals}, Zee TV’s spin-off show Kundali Bhagya grabbed the top spot with 12.683 million (last week 12.669 million). Zee Anmol’s Kumkum Bhagya stood at No. 2 by clocking 11.580 million (last week 11.779 million) Impressions. Zee TV’s Kumkum Bhagya grabbed 11.053 million (last week 10.128 million) Impressions, at No. 3. Star Bharat’s Nimki Mukhiya that stood at No. 4 clocked 10.260 million (last week 10.407 million) Impressionsin Week 7, followed by the channel’s another popular show Kya Haal MrPanchaal with 9.878 million (last week 10.185 million) Impressions.

Top channels in urban markets

Colors continued to lead the flock of Hindi general entertainment channels (GECs) in the urban markets, garnering 413.629 million (last week 426.504 million) Impressions. Star Bharat stood at the second spot and has clocked 364.738 million (last week 354.898 million) Impressions. Star Plus gained significantly to climb one spot up to reach No. 3 in the urban markets with 330.236 million (last week 319.694 million) Impressions. Zee TV, in turn, slipped to No.4 in the list of most-watched shows on Hindi GEC in urban markets, clocking 326.359 million (last week 339.825 million) Impressions. At No. 5, Sony Entertainment Television stood with 314.255 million (last week 314.996 million) Impressions, followed by Sony SAB garnered 290.528 million (last week 281.180 million) Impressions. Zee TV’s Kumkum Bhagya became the second most-watched show in urban markets with 6.859 million (last week 5.935 million) Impressions. Sony Sab’s flagship show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma was at No. 3 on the list clocking 6.529 million (last week 6.388 million) Impressions, followed by Colors’ Udaanthatgarnered 5.872 million (last week 5.988 million) Impressions, at No. 3. The debut episode of the second season of Colors’s popular reality show Rising Star entered the list at No 5, garnering 5.852 million Impressions.
