94.3 Radio One India, the radio brand owned by Next Radio Ltd, has launched the first online re-broadcast of its Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore international format network FM radio stations. It is the first in India to also launch the first audio business channel live stream at www.1cast.in.
With the launch of digital re-broadcast service, listeners from across the country can stream the three international format FM radio stations from any internet connected digital device.
The live audio business channel from Radio One will broadcast only on the internet from 9am to 3pm from Monday to Friday. The business channel will report on the stock market, Indian and world economy and key finance related topics and sectors that impact the business community in India. The audio business channel is a first of its kind and makes business content easy to understand and consume on the move without looking at a paper or a screen.
www.1cast.in operates on a simple browser based URL and works across all PC, MAC, android and iPhone platforms. The simple ‘save to home screen’ function in all smart devices can allow the URL icon to be saved on the desktop/ home screen for easy ‘app like’ access. It eliminates the need for an app that needs constant updates and thereby keeps the listener’s life simple.
Vineet Singh Hukmani, MD and CEO, Next Radio, said, “We are pleased to be ahead of curve of all the FM radio stations by being not only the first radio station in India to ‘rebroadcast’ our existing international format FM stations in Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore FM online but also to launch India’s first audio business channel streaming exclusively online. With data prices being so affordable and smart device penetration increasing by the day, we felt www.1cast.in is the perfect ‘steaming audio content companion’ for our upscale listeners of 94.3 Radio One.”
He further added, “Our research has shown that there are International radio and news content enthusiasts outside our seven city metro FM radio footprint mainly in Hyderabad, Cochin, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Lucknow and Eastern India. We felt internet streaming is the most economical way to spread the reach of our international network to listeners who long for global quality International Radio content in India and do not have it on their FM radio dial.”
“With this internet re-broadcast, we hope to establish enhanced reach of our online international radio format network in the coming 6-9 months thereby giving our advertisers enhanced engagement in new cities. We are confident that in the next 12 months, we will be able to breakeven on the online audio business news channel which will open doors for more ‘digital only’ talk format channels for our focused upscale audiences,” added Hukmani.
www.1cast.in will be launched using print and targeted social media in innovative ways so as to engage the listener across India to build a daily habit with the unique streaming content related to music, local city connect and live business content.
94.3 Radio One broadcasts FM radio stations in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Pune, Kolkata, Chennai and Ahmedabad and will now reach an all India upscale audience with the new online stream offering.
