In the last week of 2017 (Week 52 - December 23-29) of BARC India data, Star Bharat sprung back to the top spot on the combined urban and rural markets, while Colors and Zee Anmol held the top spots in the respective urban and rural markets. Other than a few changes in rankings in the combined markets, the lists largely remained the same with minor gains by most channels.
As per BARC India data, Super Dancer Chapter 2 on Sony gained more numbers to get listed in the top shows’ lists in urban and combined markets, while Kya Haal Mr Panchal from Star Bharat stayed in the lists too.
Top channels in U+R markets
As per select BARC India data for Week 52 of 2017 (December 23-29) for HSM (U+R): NCCS All: 2+ Individuals, Star Bharat climbed back to the top spot with 692.154 million (last week 692.427 million) Impressions. In turn, Zee Anmol slipped back to No. 2 in the combined U+R markets with 682.234 million (last week 692.817 million) Impressions. Colors kept at No. 3 position with 600.546 million (last week 598.691 million) Impressions. Star Utsav climbed one spot to reach No. 4 garnering 600.396 million (last week 568.254 million) Impressions. Zee TV slipped by one spot to stand at No. 5 garnering 591.855 million (last week 584.373 million) Impressions. Sony Pal stayed put at the sixth spot with 561.552 million (last week 542.658 million) Impressions. Star Plus stayed at No. 7 with 501.322 million (last week 531.495 million) Impressions. Rishtey at No. 8 clocked 465.438 million (last week 467.713 million) Impressions. Sony Entertainment Television stayed at No. 9 position with gross viewership of 420.804 million (last week 403.512 million) Impressions. Sony SAB too remained at No. 10 with 388.490 million (last week 371.595 million) Impressions.
Top shows in U+R markets
As per select data {HSM (U+R): NCCS All: Prime Time (1800 - 2330 hours): 2+ Individuals}, Zee TV’s spin-off show Kundali Bhagya and its original fiction Kumkum Bhagya grabbed the top two spots with 12.232 million (last week 11.446 million) and 11.468 million (last week 11.328 million) Impressions, respectively. Star Bharat’s Kya Haal Mr Panchaal slipped by two spots to reach No. 3 clocking 10.093 million (last week 11.804 million) Impressions in Week 49. Zee TV’s Mahek stood at No. 4 with 9.737 million Impressions, followed by Sony TV’s dance reality show Super Dancer Chapter 2 that clocked 9.185 million Impressions.
Top channels in urban markets
Colors continued to lead the flock of Hindi general entertainment channels (GECs) in the urban markets, garnering 438.891 million (last week 437.673 million) Impressions. Zee TV was ranked as the second most-watched Hindi GEC in the urban markets clocking 354.527 million (last week 355.119 million) Impressions. Star Plus slipped to NO. 3 in the urban markets with 353.989 million (last week 375.937 million) Impressions. Star Bharat stood at the fourth spot by clocking 334.751 million (last week 332.706 million) Impressions, followed by Sony Entertainment Television with 298.884 million (last week 292.281 million) Impressions. Sony SAB garnered 290.669 million (last week 278.135 million) Impressions, standing at No. 6. Sony Pal was at No. 7 with 183.680 million (last week 175.014 million) Impressions.
