Network18's first ever 'India Power Conclave' on September 22

Network18’s ‘India Power Conclave’, an idea leadership forum on the energy sector, will be held on September 22 at Hyatt Regency in New Delhi. The day-long conclave will be attended by key stakeholders from the Central and State Governments and some of the most influential leaders from the industry – all coming together on a common platform to chalk out a roadmap for the sector and envision energy security for the country.

Moderated by senior editors from Network18, including Shereen Bhan, Bhupendra Chaubey, Manisha Natarajan, Nithya Balakrishnan and Shruti Mishra, the conclave has been designed to carry out conversations around the future, the new-age practices introduced and at the same time analyse the significant changes seen so far – factors that have contributed in the development of the power industry. The different sessions will take a holistic look at the energy perspective in Indian states, energising DISCOMs, next-gen technologies, energy entrepreneurs, renewable energy, global best practices and more with participation of CXOs from public and private companies in the power sector.

Raj Kumar Singh, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Power and New and Renewable Energy, Government of India, the chief guest, will share his vision for the Indian power sector in an interaction with the industry leaders present at the conclave. The conclave will feature special video addresses by Suresh Prabhu, Union Minister of Commerce and Industry and Kimmo Tiilikainen, Energy Minister of Finland. Shrikant Sharma, Energy Minister, Uttar Pradesh will also speak.

Shereen Bhan, Managing Editor, CNBC-TV18, said, “A core industry that is vital for both economic growth as well as human development, the power sector is undergoing a transition. The imperative, then, is for us to deliberate on the key challenges, opportunities and best practices that can be applied in an Indian context. CNBC-TV18 has always been at the forefront of initiating dialogue about policies that influence the economy and thus aim to position the ‘India Power Conclave’ as one such catalyst for change and innovation in the sector. The conclave will bring together industrialists, influencers and political fraternity, thereby engaging them in meaningful conversations that define the strategy for the sector at large."

The Conclave will also witness participation from 10 international speakers and delegates from over 20 countries. India Power Conclave’s official partners include top Indian and International organisations such as Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW), McKinsey & Company, Brookings India, India Smart Grid Forum, WBCSD and International Solar Alliance. Finland is the Country Partner for the conclave and Andhra Pradesh is the State Partner.
