Hindustan Times appoints Sukumar Ranganathan as Editor-in-Chief

Close on the heels of the resignation of Editor-in-Chief Bobby Ghosh, Hindustan Times has appointed Mint Editor Sukumar Ranganathan as the new Editor-in-Chief.

Ranganathan will oversee all print and digital operations of HT and report to Shobhana Bhartia, Chairperson and Editorial Director, HT Media Ltd. Bhartia made this announcement today in an internal communication.

Sukumar will also take over the leadership of the HT digital newsroom on October 23. HT Media will soon make an announcement on the editorial leadership of Mint.

Sukumar has been Editor of Mint, of which he was a co-founder, since late 2008. He joined HT Media in 2006 as part of the founding team of Mint. He has previously worked at the India Today Group and The Hindu Business Line.
