Cannes Lions 2017: India secures 41 shortlists in Print, Outdoor, PR, Glass and Promo categories

The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity has announced shortlists for Print and Publishing, Outdoor, PR, Glass, Promo and Activation and Cyber categories on its second day. India has nine shortlists in Print, 13 in Outdoor, two in Glass, seven in PR and 10 in the Promo categories. Leading the pack is McCann Worldgroup with seven shortlists in Print and five in Outdoor. Leo Burnett and Ogilvy & Mather have three shortlists each in Promo and Activation. No campaigns from India were shortlisted in the Cyber category.

Print and Publishing

Out of nine shortlists in Print and Publishing, seven are from McCann Worldwide India for the campaign ‘World for All (Animal care and Adoptions)’ campaign. DDB Mudra’s work ‘Penguin Audio Books’ for Penguin Random House and the Social Street Mumbai’s campaign ‘Funeral Services’ for Antim Funeral Services has been shortlisted in the same category from India.

Outdoor

There are 13 shortlists in the Outdoor category from India. McCann Worldgroup India has five for the campaign ‘World for All (Animal care and Adoptions)’. Rediffusion Y&R has three shortlists for the campaign ‘Waterproof Torches’ for Eveready. Ogilvy & Mather has four shortlists – two for ‘KFC Add Hope’ campaign, one for ‘Savlon Healthy Hands Chalk Sticks’ campaign for ITC’s Savlon and one for ‘100 Pipers for PernodRicard India. Leo Burnett has one shortlist ‘Roads that Honk’ campaign for HP Lubricants.

Promo and Activation

In the Promo and Activation category, India has 10 shortlists. Two are from Taproot Dentsu for the campaign ‘Adidas Odds’. Leo Burnett has three shortlists for the campaign ‘Roads that Honk’ for HP Lubricants. Ogilvy & Mather has three shortlists: Two for ‘Savlon Healthy Hands Chalk Sticks’ campaign for ITC’s Savlon and one for one for ‘Wear Her Name’ for Star Plus. JWT has one shortlist for the campaign ‘My Daughter Will’ for the NGO Haiyya, while Medulla Communication’s work ‘Last Laugh’ for the Indian Association for Palliative Care is also among the shortlisted ones.

PR

India has seven shortlists in the PR category. BBDO India’s campaign ‘#ReleaseThePressure’ campaign for PepsiCo’s Mirinda. Medulla Communications, ‘Last Laugh’ campaign for Indian Association for Palliative Care, Leo Burnett’s campaign ‘Roads that Honk’ for HP Lubricants, McCann Health India’s campaign ‘Immunity Charm’ for Ministry of Public Health, Islamic Republic of Afghanistan are among the shortlists from India. Ogilvy & Mather has two for the campaign ‘Savlon Healthy Hands Chalk Sticks’ campaign for ITC’s Savlon.

Glass

In the Glass category, two agencies from India have been shortlisted. L&K Saatchi & Saatchi has been shortlisted for the campaign ‘Public Service’ for The Ammada Trust and The Company of Design has been selected for their ‘Safer Cities’ campaign for Plan India.
